• Nuthatch is a quite funny bird, he is very common, and active when it comes to protecting its environment. If you play a record of its voice and a nuthatch is near hearing that – you can be for sure, he will come to see the competition and will be quite aroused even hours after that. The 1st picture is its typical pose when it is looking for something.
• Starting tip: in my experience a nuthatch is far more visible in old leaf-tree woods, not saying that it isn’t seen in other places (near bird tables, needle wood and so on). There are 2 things you should know – you have to search a tree (young trees won’t make the deal) with low branches for him to land, of course that’s before you start to take photographs of it. The other thing – use its voice to loot him near you – nuthatch WILL come (100%) if it’s near. Not a shy bird, so no masking required, but that doesn’t mean you can act like a highway (loud, noisy and fast movement).
