• This bird is not a common in Latvia, though it looks like a common one. It can’t be found here in summer and very rarely in winter (mostly around Liepaja). I can say that getting this bird is just like testing your luck, you can get it and you can’t. Really – no preparations needed – you have to know where it could be – you can’t loot it with food (I mean, you can’t put loads of seeds on a bird-table and hope, that one day this bird will be there – my experience shows that it won’t) or something else.
• Starting tip: masking required, would be good if you find the bird in a place where it won’t flee a long way from you, so you can harass it again and again. It will get tired and won’t pay attention to anyone who is near in a period of time.
